Top 10 Best f(x) Songs (As Of Now)

I've wanted to make this post for so long, but haven't gotten around to actually doing it until now. First of all I was unsure about f(x)'s future after Sulli left in 2014 and whether they'd make more music or not, and secondly I just had a really hard time deciding which songs I liked the most. Of course "4 Walls" did come out last year, which made me realize it was worth waiting putting together a list because that album hosts some of their best tracks to date; not that it makes my job any easier, but still. So finally after many deliberations back and forth I've decided on my 10 favorite f(x) songs as of right now.

Let's start with some honorable mentions (and boy are there many with this group).
Ice Cream
Butterfly
All Night
Milk
Papi
Ending Page
Mr Boogie
Beautiful Stranger

10. Pretty Girl

You're going to notice right off the bat that the majority of the songs included on this list are from "Pink Tape", f(x)'s sophomore album, and the easy explanation for that is that the album is brilliant so naturally many of the songs off of it will be mentioned. Tenth place belongs to one of those songs, "Pretty Girl", and I remember being obsessed with it right from the first time I heard it. The strong, sassy lyrics, fierce guitars and powerful vocals all come together to make this amazing song.

9. Signal

"Signal" is one song that grew on me slowly, as I wasn't its biggest fan at first but the more I heard it the more I liked it, and now it's one of my favorite songs of theirs. The 70's disco vibe fits perfectly with f(x) whimsical image and going retro suits the girls wonderfully. As always it's packed with both great vocals and their infamous sing-talking that I've grown to appreciate over the years as well.

8. Déjà Vu

On eight place we find "Déjà Vu", one of this ever-changing list's newcomers as it's from their latest album "4 Walls". Like with many songs on said album it makes me want to get up and dance, and everytime the beat drops I feel like jumping up and down like crazy. A hook like that isn't easy to come by, but I'm happy it's f(x) who got to deliver it.

7. Sweet Witches

The only song not from one of f(x)'s three latest albums is "Sweet Witches", and it features yet another genre of music that this group is able to pull off. "Sweet Witches" is just amazing, and although it's very cutesy it's also very whimsical, magical almost, which makes it such an interesting track along with the equally imaginative lyrics.

6. Toy

"Toy" could be one of those songs that you either love or hate because it is, well, pretty noisy. Some might call it messy even, and I agree that the structure is very odd and some of the transitions are unexpected, but I just adore it. It's very high energy and has a chorus that really pulls you in, as well as a dub-step breakdown that actually fits quite well. Not to mention the sassy, confident lyrics that truly display the best side of f(x)'s known brattiness.

5. 4 Walls

The only title track on this list is f(x)'s latest one, "4 Walls", and that for good reason. Like with many SM artists the title tracks are very rarely the best songs out of all the ones of the albums, but "4 Walls" is actually on this album's better ones. Personally I love this genre of music and I know that isn't the case with everyone, but I could listen to this song over and over again without getting tired.

4. Step

"Step" was another slow burner for me, as I didn't instantly love it but over time it grew to become one of my absolute favorite songs of theirs. Saxophone hooks can really go either way (and there's been a lot of those recently in K-pop) but this one is fantastic and takes the entire song to the next level. Additionally this one also has great lyrics as the girls sing about their confidence with the right amount of sass.

3. Dracula

Easily the best song on "Red Light", "Dracula" was kind of a game-changer in my opinion. This song is so ambitious and devoted, and I can honestly not imagine any other group that could pull this vampire-inspired concept of without it being comical. Not only is it amazing because if how authentic it is to the horror genre but the melody is so good and that final chorus gets me every single time.

2. Airplane

Up until very recently "Airplane" was my favorite f(x) song, before the current number one came out, but it's still one of my favorite K-pop songs of all time. This is just pop perfection at its finest, with a fantastic instrumental, structure and melody, and it captures a sense of freedom and happiness that's hard to describe with words. All I know is that every time I hear it I feel stupidly happy.

1. Rude Love

At least we have arrived at number one, and if there was any spot on list I was sure of it was this one. "Rude Love" is the song I never knew I needed in my life, but now that it's here I can't imagine my life without it. With this track f(x) explores another dimension of their regular dance music, and even the somewhat retro-inspired instrumental alone is an excellent piece of music. I literally cannot find any flaws with this song, and it's definitely been on repeat ever since it came out.

Wow, that was a ride, wasn't it? Did any of these songs make it onto your top 10 lists as well or did you chose completely different ones? Let me know! :)
